Belgium is divided into three semi-independent political regions - Flanders, Wallonia, and Brussels.  Dutch speaking Flanders occupies the north half of the country, French speaking Wallonia occupies the south, and the city of Brussels is surrounded by Flanders, but is mostly French speaking.  It seems that the only two reasons for Flemmings and Walloons to associate with each other are the city of Brussels and holidays.  Wallonia feels kinmanship with Brussels because of the language, and Flanders because of the location.  And, when it's time for vacation, it seems that half of Wallonia ventures north into Flanders to visit the coast, and half of Flanders goes south into Wallonia to see the "mountains".

True to tradition, living in Flanders, I didn't go to Wallonia that often.  As you can see, I really don't have that many pictures, and what I have is from only two locations - Henri Chapelle American War Memorial, and Namur (the capital of Wallonia).
